Deploy/Missions
We have many different opportunities to use our gifts and talents as we share our faith by word and deed. We invite you to join in being the hands and feet of Christ in our efforts to transform our world.
Feed the Hungry
We have many opportunities to feed the hungry. St. Paul is actively involved in the work of the Methodist Service Center and Food Pantry. We provide funding, food, and many of the hands that help the pantry run. This group of people is also looking at other ways to alleviate the hunger and nutrition problems of our neighbors.
Construction
If construction is your gift, you can use your talents as St. Paul partners with two wonderful organizations: Habitat for Humanity and the Texas Ramp Project. On the last weekend of every month (and other dates, too) you will find St. Paul people involved with one or the other of these building projects.
Mission Trips
Mission Trips are always on the calendar at St. Paul. Watch for “Destination: Abilene!” trips happening every Wednesday during the summer months. We will find ways to transform our neighborhood, Abilene, and the Big Country. An All-Church Mission trip gives our Youth and Adults an opportunity to connect with each other in service and love to people near and far. We partner with Pura Vida ministries to send a Surgical Mission Team to Guatemala in September. We send medical supplies, doctors, nurses, and support people to share health and peace with those in need. We are creating a Construction Team that will go to Guatemala in the spring of 2012.
"In the Loop"
We have knitters who meet once a week to make Prayer Shawls for many people and Scarves to put in cancer comfort baskets. Other outreach opportunities are available during the Christmas season as we partner with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree and the Red Kettle Bell ringing.
Please join the highly committed disciples who share our love of God by serving our neighbors.
