Reaching Creatively
One of the things I love about being part of a church that is actively reaching out into Abilene is the opportunities to be creative that such a church affords. One of the ways you are reaching out to those without a church home is through the new community of faith. The upcoming months are going to be very important in setting the foundation of this community.
On January 19th our second ministry group started meeting and we anticipate a third starting sometime within the next 6 weeks. These groups are predominantly
trying to reach folks that are looking for something different in a church. February 4th I will be meeting with CCER
(the conference committee that gave us a grant to help fund this ministry last year) in order to discuss the possibilities of
continuing to receive assistance from the Conference in starting this particular
ministry of St. Paul.
Within the next few weeks I will begin being “coached” by a veteran in the field of starting ministries that focus on growing the Kingdom by reaching into the segment of
society that does not attend church. All of these steps take a new level of creativity of time and resources to be effective. There truly is not a boring moment at this church and with this particular charge.
Still in one Peace,
