FAQ

1.  What time is the worship service?

Our worship services are Sundays at 8:30a and 11:55a. Feel free to join us during our mingling hours (9:30a & 10:30a) for coffee, juice, and pastries. Refreshments are located in the hallway just north of the Sanctuary.

 

2. Where is the church located?

St. Paul is located in Downtown Abilene at the corner of North 5th and Beech Street.

3.  Where do I park?

Parking is easy, there are two parking lots, the first parking lot is located just across the street from main entrance to the church and is located on the corner of Beech and 5th. The second, is behind the fellowship hall and is located on the corner of Orange and 5th.

 

4.  How can I get connected?

Getting connected is how we believe we truly live out what it means to be in community with one another. We have a variety of ways to get connected click here for a complete list of things going on at our church.

5.  Is there handicap accessibility?

Handicap parking is located directly in front of the Sanctuary on Beech St. There is also an elevator that provides access to the upstair classrooms and offices.

6.  What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Our pastors are dressed in robes and stoles, other staff members and church attenders are dressed in anything from jeans, slacks, dresses, or suits; what ever you wish-we just want you to be comfortable.

7.  What about my kids?

We want your kids to get the most out of worship. We provide a fully staffed nursery for infants through 4yrs during the worship service and Sunday school. The nursery staff are trained and ready to take your little one.  Children K through 5th grade are welcome to join you for worship and then go to Sunshine Chapel for the remainder of the service. The children are dismissed after the children’s sermon.

Children are always welcome to join their parents in the sanctuary for worship, we even provide red or blue totes with activities for them to enjoy during the service, they are located at the main entrance of the sanctuary.

8.  Will I be asked to stand and be recognized as a guest?

No, you will not be asked to stand and be recognized as a guest. However, there is a time for first time visitors to raise their hands so we can give you a gift. Not comfortable raising your hand, that’s ok, we just want you to feel comfortable at St. Paul. Either way, stop by at the end of the service and say hello to one of our pastors.

9.  Am I expected to give money during the offering?

During our service, volunteers will collect an offering.  The offering helps support the ministries of our church. As a guest, you are not expected to give money. The offering time is for members or people who call St. Paul their church home.

 

10.Where should I sit?

Anywhere you like. Most people sit on the main floor in the sanctuary, there is a balcony accessible by the stairs in the main entrance to the sanctuary.

11..  Do I need to bring a Bible?

Not necessarily, feel free to bring one if you like. All scripture, songs, and prayers are visible on the screens in the sanctuary. We also have Bibles and Hymnals available in the pews.

 

12.  Are you worship services traditional or contemporary?

In our worship we incorporate traditional hymns, prayer, and responses.

13.  How long are the worship services?

About an hour and 15 minuets.

14.  I’m not a Christian, or am not sure what I believe. Am I welcome at St. Paul?

Yes, we want everyone to feel welcome at St. Paul, if you want to come in and observe our worship and practices great, we’re glad to have you.
